Night Sweat Deep Thoughts

The first time I woke up with a case of the night sweats, I thought for sure I was sick with a raging flu. I was drenched from head to toe, and as I made my way to the bathroom to splash some cold water on my face (which didn’t help at all), I realized I felt fine and thought maybe I’d just had a bad dream that caused me to thrash about for an hour.

When it happened the next night, and the next, I had to face the sad reality that night sweats were here to stay. Here are ten thoughts I had trying to make sense of the inferno erupting under my skin and bones…

1. Did I pee myself?

2. Not what I had in mind while I was wishing for a hotter body.

3. I need to stock up on fans. One for each side of the bed, a traveling fan for weekend

getaways, another in case of said fans breaks because that can not happen.

4. I must be running fever. I have to be running a fever. I am very, very ill.

5. Stepping outside naked in the middle of the night is going to be a thing for me now. The neighbors can deal with it.

6. Cooling sheets my ass.

7. Just take my bedding. Just take it all.

8. That all natural deodorant you got today will not cut it.

9. Yes, I definitely peed. There’s no way your body produces this much sweat.

10. I’d rather be bleeding.
